How to play Road Crosser
Guide your frog from the bottom of the screen to one of five home bays at the top. Hop across five lanes of cars and trucks to the safe strip in the middle, then cross the river on floating logs and turtles. The water is deadly, and so is being carried off the edge of the screen.
Each new row you reach earns 10 points, and landing in a bay earns 50 plus 5 for every second left on the timer. Fill all five bays for a 500-point bonus and the next level, which is faster and gives you less time. You have five lives and lose one if you are hit, fall in the water or run out of time.
Tips
- βΈThe middle strip and the starting pavement are completely safe, so wait there for a gap in the traffic.
- βΈOn the river you drift with whatever you are standing on, so hop off well before you reach the edge.
- βΈYou cannot land in a bay that is already full or on the grass between bays, so line up with an empty bay before your last hop.
- βΈThe timer bar flashes red and beeps in the last eight seconds. Speed earns points, but a lost life costs far more.
Road Crosser FAQ
- Why did my frog drown while standing on turtles?
- From level 2 some groups of turtles dive under the water for a moment. If they go fully under while you are on them, you fall in.
- Does Road Crosser get harder?
- Yes. Each level makes the traffic, logs and turtles move about a fifth faster and cuts 2 seconds from the timer, down to a minimum of 15 seconds.
- Can I play on a phone?
- Yes. Swipe in the direction you want to hop, or use the on-screen d-pad.
