How to play Brain Trivia
Brain Trivia is a ten-question general knowledge quiz. Questions are picked at random from eight categories: science, geography, history, sports, pop culture, technology, nature and maths, with no more than two from any one. Each has four answers and a 15-second timer. Click or tap an answer, or press 1 to 4.
A correct answer scores 100 points plus a speed bonus of up to 100 more, depending on the time left. Answers in a row build a streak multiplier that rises by half each time, reaching three times the points from the fifth in a row. A wrong answer or a time-out scores nothing, resets the streak and shows you the right answer.
Tips
- βΈNever let the timer run out. A time-out counts as wrong anyway, so if you are unsure, a guess costs you nothing extra.
- βΈAnswer as soon as you are sure. The speed bonus shrinks steadily as the bar empties.
- βΈOn a computer, keys 1 to 4 match the numbered answer buttons and are quicker than the mouse.
- βΈStreaks matter most late in a round, when one fast answer with the full multiplier is worth up to 600 points.
Brain Trivia FAQ
- How many questions are in each quiz?
- Ten. They are drawn at random from a bank of 128 questions, so each round mixes different topics.
- What is the highest possible score?
- Just under 5,000 points. That needs all ten answers right, each given almost instantly, so the multiplier reaches three times by the fifth question and stays there.
- Is there a penalty for a wrong answer?
- You don't lose any points, but you get nothing for that question and your streak multiplier goes back to the start.
