How to play Reflex Test
Reflex Test measures how fast you react to a visual signal. Press any key or tap to begin. The screen turns red and shows WAIT, then after a random pause of about 1.5 to 5 seconds it flashes green. The instant it does, click, tap or press Space or Enter. Your time appears in milliseconds, together with a rating.
A test is five rounds. The panel on the left lists each result, highlights your fastest and shows your running average. Press while the screen is still red and you get a TOO SOON warning: the false start is counted and the round restarts with a new delay. After round five, the average of your five times is your score, so lower is better.
Tips
- ▸Rest your finger on the mouse button, the screen or the Space bar before the round starts, so the only thing left to do is press.
- ▸Watch the whole game area. The entire background changes colour, so a relaxed, wide focus spots the switch fastest.
- ▸Don't try to predict the timing. The delay is random every round, and a false start only costs you your rhythm.
Reflex Test FAQ
- What is a good reaction time?
- The game rates every result. Under 180 ms is Superhuman, under 220 ms Lightning, under 270 ms Quick and under 330 ms Average. Below 420 ms is Sluggish, and anything slower is rated Asleep?.
- What happens if I click too early?
- You see TOO SOON and the round starts again with a fresh random delay. The false start is counted but adds nothing to your average.
- Can I take the reaction test on my phone?
- Yes. Tap the game area the moment it turns green. Your best average is saved in your browser.
