How to play Tank Battle
First pick a mode: press 1 to play the computer or 2 for two players on one keyboard. Each player drives a tank around a walled arena. Left and right turn the tank, forward drives the way it faces and back reverses more slowly. One shell destroys a tank and ends the round.
The surviving tank scores a point, and the first to win five rounds wins the match. If both tanks are destroyed together, nobody scores. Shells bounce off walls twice before they burst, and each tank can have three shells in flight. Start positions change each round, and pressing M on the ready screen switches modes.
Tips
- βΈAim at a wall to bounce a shell around cover and hit a tank hiding behind it.
- βΈDon't fire all three shells at once. With three in flight you cannot shoot again until one disappears.
- βΈReversing is slower than driving forward, so turn and drive away rather than backing out of trouble.
- βΈThe computer tank sidesteps shells coming straight at it and reloads more slowly than you, so keep up the pressure and use angled shots.
Tank Battle FAQ
- Can two people play Tank Battle on one computer?
- Yes. Choose Two players. Player 1 drives with WASD and fires with F or Space, and player 2 drives with the arrow keys and fires with Enter.
- How do you win?
- Win five rounds before your opponent does. A round ends as soon as a tank is hit.
- Can your own shell hit you?
- Yes. A moment after it leaves the barrel, your own shell can destroy your tank, so watch out for rebounds in tight spaces.
