How to play Cricket Smash

You bat for five overs (30 balls) with three wickets. Each delivery is called as it's bowled: fast, slower ball, bouncer, yorker or spin. Tap, click or press Space as the ball reaches the yellow hitting zone. The better your timing, the bigger the shot.

Perfect timing hits a six, very good timing a four and decent timing one or two runs. A badly mistimed swing gives a dot ball or gets you caught, and a straight ball you miss can bowl you. Before each ball the mini field shows a gap in the fielders; aim at it with Left or Right for an extra run on ones and twos. Your score is your total runs.

Tips

• ▸Wait for the call. Spinners and slower balls arrive later than fast balls and yorkers, so adjust your timing.
• ▸Bouncers can never bowl you, so if you misjudge one it's safe to let it go.
• ▸Picking the gap only adds a run to ones and twos. Fours and sixes depend purely on timing.

How do you hit a six?

Swing exactly as the ball crosses the dashed line in the middle of the yellow zone. Only the most precise timing gives a six; slightly off still goes for four.

How do you get out?

You can be caught after a badly mistimed shot, or bowled when a straight delivery gets past you. Losing three wickets ends the innings early.

What do the different deliveries do?

Fast balls and yorkers arrive quickly, and yorkers pitch right at your feet. Slower balls and spinners take longer, with spin drifting after it bounces. Bouncers pitch short and rise high.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Tap anywhere to swing, and use the LEG and OFF buttons at the bottom to pick a side.
