How to play Star Fighter 3D
Fly your starfighter through an endless asteroid field. On a computer the ship follows your mouse, or you can steer with the arrow keys or WASD; hold the mouse button or Space to fire twin lasers. On a touchscreen, drag to steer and the lasers fire automatically. Click or tap to launch.
Small asteroids break with one hit, medium ones need two and large ones three, for 10, 20 and 30 points. Red drones take two hits, are worth 50, chase you and fire red bolts. You have three shields: each crash or bolt hit costs one and is followed by two seconds of safety. Lose all three and the run ends. Surviving also earns points.
Tips
- โธKeep the trigger held while you steer. There is no ammo or overheating, and a steady stream of shots clears small rocks from your path.
- โธShoot drones first. They are worth five times a small asteroid, and while they are alive they keep firing at you.
- โธKeep moving. Some asteroids are aimed at the spot where you are flying, so sitting still invites a collision.
- โธUse the two safe seconds after a hit to fly clear of trouble. Shields never come back.
Star Fighter 3D FAQ
- How do I steer with the mouse?
- Move the pointer over the game and the ship flies towards that point on the screen. Hold the left button to keep firing.
- Can I get my shields back?
- No. You start with three and there are no pickups, so the only way to keep them is to avoid rocks, drones and enemy fire.
- Does Star Fighter 3D get harder?
- Yes. The longer you survive, the faster the field moves and the more often asteroids and drones appear. It runs in the browser using WebGL, on computers and phones.
